Ok for now...

ularly coming to mind isTribe's track, "Oh My God." Q-Tip, responds to one of Phife's ridiculous questions with "I don't know man, I don't know man, I don't man, I don't know, I don't know..." then Busta coming in "Oh my God, yes, oh my God..." None of that made any sense. Like my run yesterday.

The first 15 + were one thing, the last 4 + entirely something else At one point it occurred to me to ask myself, "Am I walking, cause this kinda seems like walking." And I was walking, like when you're "running" in a pool. Dang. At 16 and a bit I was thinking, "Another 10?" At 18, I was like, "Pat, can I buy a vowel?" then choosing Y. Clever. But for naught: Vanna rolled her eyes but no tiles. I finally made it to 20, but I cursed every red light that made me stop, cause it was soooo hard to restart.

I figure my mistake was starting out way too fast, trying to run the first 10 in the high 9's, the second half 30-40 seconds slower, into the mid-10's. By legs were like, That's not in our contract. They kept working, under duress.

I look at my pace, which does include waiting at stop lights here and there (but still tho!), and think, Huh? I am humbled. I'm giving up any pretensions in regards to finish time. I just want to finish. Everything else seems arbitrary outside of that. The most incontrovertible realities yesterday were that I ran and that I stopped after reaching my target of 20. To quote the title of a really good book, "Ok for now."
