Why We Tweet

I guess I understand Twitter now - just gotta share to whoever's willing to listen.    But I don't want to tweet randomness to the whole damn world, or the choice subsection known as my "followers".

Took day off work today.  Justifiably: though I had been contemplating since weekend, by Monday eve I was both recovering from half marathon and had cold that just kept getting worse.  With near laryngitis yesterday - no chance someone would mistake Kev for Barry White - today off makes sense.

So I'm on my way to see someone possibly special, and taking public transportation, which, all going smoothly will take 1.5 hours, but if i miss my first leg, well then, this not being New York or Tokyo, I won't see her for 2.5 hours.  Which means, like almost every well-intentioned morning before work, I'll have to drive.  45 miles; the return trip will most certainly be in 2 hour traffic.  Hence, I'm in a rush.

So as I'm tromping down the escalator  I see the Oakland A's mascot hanging out. I want to make my train.  I want a picture.  I get a picture and then, guess what? Also a pair of tix for plaza level seats to and opening week game as well as complimentary BARt tickets. I could use them to go see the Giants and still be up... I wouldn't bust an after the fact Steve Urkel, but I'm just saying.

So, basically, on my day off so far I get free baseball tickets, free Bart tix, and about to have lunch that woulda been impossible otherwise.   Earlier, it seemed the import of this parade of wonderfuls would end up being recast as a "Got milk?" commercial.  It is end of day, and I'm set.  The day has been very good; restarting my blog is the not the least of it.  ( I sense semi-coloned clause envy, so let's say it again): RESTARTING MY BLOG IS NOT THE LEAST OF THE WONDERFULS!

( Irony: as a teacher I can only "do lunch" with a non-colleague if I take the day off; as a lawyer I was able to "do lunch" virtually any day, but certainly would not schedule it if I wasn't going to work. )

(Poll: who made barack Obama more plausible: Morgan freeman as movie presidents or Steve urkel as blk nerd?)

Btw I also now understand why twitter is 140 character limited. But I hope my good news goodened your day.
Around the way, if love is a verb, why not good?  Now, that might be a good tweet.
